Carl Jung also said "Life really does start at 40. Up until then, we are just doing research". But what does that really mean?
According to Jung, the goal of the first half of our life is to learn how to fit in with the world. How to be socially acceptable, loved and useful enough to create a stable environment. We fracture our 360 degree, white light, true selves at a very early age. We learn which parts of ourselves we need to "hide in the broom cupboard", and how to project exaggerated or inauthentic aspects of ourselves in order to be accepted, loved and appreciated. All driven by the implicit and emotionally driven subconscious.
When we get to mid-life we start to feel desperate and burnt out and if we aren't careful we attempt to soothe the gnawing urge for wholeness with excess. Excess toys, trinkets and distraction. Or out of sad desperation for some resolution we attempt to return to the 20 year old version of ourselves. It isn't going to fill the void.
If we are lucky, we realise we need to start the journey home.
We realise we are tired of living outside of ourselves and we are tired of the inevitable conflict of the inner-disharmony. We no longer need to be all things to all people. We just need to be ourselves again.
Individuation, or returning to wholeness, is achieved by softening our perfectionist inner-critics and all the other egoic forms of our projected persona. We also need to rescue the parts we locked away through fear of shame or rejection. But how?
I generally work with "feelings goals". We consider the emotional space you are currently living from, and where you would like to live from in the future. We work on uncovering what it is that you truly, deeply desire. Understanding how our subconscious needs drive our material goals can help us meet these needs, as can deep exploration of feelings, beliefs and values.
Perception of security is important as a foundation for personal growth. Financial stability, self-worth, a sense of security in relationships and the workplace, and removal of overwhelm can all be worked on. Transactional aspects can be explored so that action plans can be implemented. New and revelatory perspectives of our current situation can also be key.
Chronically living under a feeling of duress, projecting a persona and/or perpetual self-sacrifice takes it's toll emotionally and physically. Creating boundaries, practising assertiveness, finding an authentic way of living and identifying our true calling frees us, allowing us to heal and thrive.
Self-awareness is the first step towards positive transformation. Most of our beliefs are implicit, "emotional learnings" that are not readily available through logical processes. However, searching our feelings in specific ways can uncover them.
Let go of the implicit emotional learnings that hinder growth and cause suffering and inner-conflict. Create space for the truth.
Replace the falsehoods with healthy truths, which will set you free. Inner conflicts resolve and the resulting harmony allows for freedom of unified thought and action.
Heal and welcome the parts of yourself you've exiled. They are desperate to be seen again. Utilise and appreciate their unique and forgotten gifts. Remember how good it feels to be whole again. To be you.
At the top of Maslow's Heirarchy, there are " Peak Experiences". These often have a spiritual feel to them and can range from moments of deep inner-peace and "flow", to a connection with a seemingly omniscient source, all the way up to glimpses of enlightenment where we feel a profound sense of oneness. Many of my clients have these experiences while working with me.

Hello, I'm Phil and I am on a mission to help bring inner-peace to as many humans as possible.
I started this journey after struggling myself for many years with stress, overwhelm and a hollow feeling that I could not shift. I had to find the answers and no stone has been left unturned in my search for the "Holy Grail" of wholeness.
I spent every spare second at my disposal for over a decade researching neuroscience, psychology and spirituality to transform myself and now I want to help others find the same peace of mind.
I have created a comprehensive, evidence-based, effective model for positive and enduring personal transformation. I use a variety of techniques, including parts work (Internal Family Systems and Voice Dialogue), Jungian shadow work, subconscious belief work, mindfulness and meditation practice, NLP techniques and traditional coaching methods. This diverse toolkit allows me to address your unique needs comprehensively.
I hold a degree in Science and Education, and Master's degree in The Neuroscience and Psychology of Mental Health. I am a certified personal development coach with additional training in a range of areas including Voice Dialogue, EFT and Belief Clearing.
